Mer de Glace, France
The impressive Mer de Glace ("Sea of Ice") is a valley glacier located in the Mont Blanc massif. When its tributary glaciers "Glacier de Leschaux" (left) and "Glacier du Tacul" (right) are taken into account, it is the longest and largest glacier in France, and the second longest in the Alps after the Aletsch Glacier.
