Ubehebe Crater, California
Approximately 2000 years ago large volcanic eruptions took place in the famous Death Valley. Ash clouds shot out of the crater and discharged its cargo all over the place. Now a desert of volcanic ash covers the Ubehebe Crater area, carved by the rare but heavy rainfalls. (aerial view)
